Project Details
The new Boat Harbor Pump Station Project includes a main pump station complex consisting of a screening system, a 55 MGD Intermediate Pumping System, a grit removal system, a 2.0 MG Inline Storage Tank, and a 36.5 MGD Transmission Pumping Station. A 12.0 MG Offline Storage Tank will be constructed adjacent to the main pump station complex. The Project also includes odor control, various building services, process controls, electrical distribution, underground utilities, and final site improvements.
At the Nansemond location, wastewater will be highly treated prior to discharge to the James River. A significant portion of the treated water will undergo additional advanced treatment to produce SWIFT Water™, which will meet drinking water quality standards. This will further reduce nutrients discharged to the James River Basin and support local water quality and Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts.
